Decks

Decks in Galaxy consist of 12 collectible cards. At the start of a new game, these 12 collectible cards are shuffled in alongside the entire shared pool to generate the custom card pool for the game. Collectible cards that are not in your deck will not show up for you during the game. After selecting the captain you then choose which deck to use with that captain.

Captains Collections

Each captain has their own collection (Currently 80 cards from Set 1) which can all be unlocked for free as you play. See Game Rewards.

Starter Decks

The first 12 unlocks for each captain make up their "Starter Deck" and are pre-designed to work well with that captain's strategy.. As each of these first 12 cards are unlocked, they are automatically added to the Starter Deck. (You do not have the ability to edit decks for the captain at this point as there are less than 12 cards and all are included automatically.)

Deckbuilding

After unlocking a 13th+ card for a captain, you now have the ability to edit the starter deck and create your own custom deck. By swapping collectible cards in and out of these decks, you will see a slightly different pool of cards in your shops.

Theme Decks

Many captains also have a pre-designed theme deck consisting of a particular set of 12 collectible cards bundled together. Upon purchase, all the cards included in the theme deck will immediately be added to your collection for that captain. If you currently do not own those cards, the theme deck will display a gem price for purchasing the missing cards. This price automatically reduces based on the number of cards in the deck already owned. If the player already owns all 12 cards, the gem price will show as 0 (free).

The "Toy Store" theme deck for This Little Piggie. Ten already-collected cards have check marks. The deck costs 100 gems (after the price reduction for already-collected cards). The deck's description reads "This little piggie went to the toy store and built a powerful complete and ready-to-play deck!"

Notes

  • Your opponents have their own custom card pools consisting of the shared pool + their 12 card decks -- pools are not shared between players in a lobby
  • The 12 card deck gets shuffled in randomly with the shared pool - there are no increased odds of seeing collectible cards vs. shared pool cards during a game.
